Salome… In Focus – A free online introduction to the opera by Michael Lee
Irish National Opera is set to present Richard Strauss's acclaimed opera Salome in Wexford and Dublin this March.
A royal, Succession-like power struggle. Lust and death at every turn. A king who desires his wild and wilful step-daughter. Her erotic fascination with a condemned prophet. The result is a horrific trade.
The performances begin with a concert performance at the National Opera House in Wexford on Sunday 3 March at 5pm. Following this, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin will host three evening performances on Tuesday 12 March, Thursday 14 March, and Saturday, 16 March, all starting at 7.30pm.
Starring Sinéad Campbell Wallace as Salome, the production is directed by Bruno Ravella and the Irish National Opera Orchestra is conducted by Fergus Sheil.
In addition to the main performances, the INO is offering an educational opportunity with a free online introduction to Salome, hosted by Michael Lee on Thursday, 7th March at 7 pm.
