The Oriel Traditional Music Archive (OTMA) is seeking volunteers, for the development of a regional repository for traditional music collections and memorabilia from the South Down, Armagh, Monaghan and Louth areas.
Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of this project which relies on connecting with musicians, their families, stories and preserving memories, music and songs.
Volunteer contributions include PR/social media, digitising, labelling, cataloguing, field recording, interviewing, audio/video editing. Some of these responsibilities do not require in person presence (OTMA is based in Newry, Co. Down).
Any time commitment will be welcomed.
OTMA provides free online and in person training (more details on the Oriel Traditional Music Archive Facebook page).
As a volunteer at OTMA, you will join a friendly team looking forward to engage with more individuals with a passion for traditional music (any genres).
Volunteering with OTMA will offer an opportunity to gain new skills whilst contributing to an important project of collection, preservation and dissemination. This is a Heritage Fund project.
Those interested in taking part in this project can find more information by contacting [email protected].
