Artist in the Community Scheme Artist Mentoring Award

Monday, 13 May 2024, 5.00pm

Create is inviting applications for its Artist in the Community Scheme Artist Mentoring Award, aimed at collaborative socially engaged artists across any career stage. This award provides an opportunity for five artists to be paired with experienced mentors from the Artist Mentor Panel for an eight-month period. The mentors, specialists in collaborative socially engaged art across various artforms and communities, will guide the mentees in capacity building and arts practice development.

The mentorship includes six core meetings with a mentor, with the option for up to two additional sessions with other practitioners to gain varied perspectives and skills. Participants may also attend an information session with a guest speaker and a networking event tailored to their interests.

The programme is designed for artists at any career stage, including those new to the field, established artists transitioning to collaborative socially engaged arts, artists feeling underrepresented due to displacement or other reasons, and those facing challenges in developing their practice. An orientation session is scheduled for 10th July 2024, and the programme runs from July 2024 to February 2025.

Applications must be submitted by 13 May 2024 at 5pm.
