Resident Assistant Director
Kiln Theatre invites applications for the role of Resident Assistant Director. This full-time position, lasting one year, is designed for early career theatre directors to develop a thorough understanding of both subsidised and commercial theatre production.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Artistic Team, assist in the world premiere of “Peanut Butter and Blueberries” by Suhaiymah Manzoor Khan, and support the Artistic Director, Amit Sharma, during his opening season. Additional responsibilities include script reading, reporting, and contributing to creative team meetings, as well as providing support for Kiln’s Creative Engagement programme.
This role also offers the chance to work on West End productions through a partnership with The Mackintosh Foundation. Applicants should ideally have 2–5 years of experience directing theatre and have produced their own work for a paying audience. We particularly encourage applications from individuals traditionally underrepresented in UK theatre.
The application deadline is midday, Monday 13th May 2024. First-round interviews are scheduled for Tuesday 4th June, with second-round interviews on Friday 14th June 2024.
