The Complex seeks to recruit an experienced Technical Manager with a high-level of expertise and knowledge to provide technical support for The Complex and its Arts Programme.

FT/PT @ 3-5 days per week.
Salary @ €35K - 40K pro rata commensurate with experience

The Complex seeks to recruit an experienced Technical Manager with a high-level of expertise and knowledge to provide technical support for The Complex and its Arts Programme.

Experience in music and performance is essential and experience in visual arts, music, dance environments is desirable.

The Complex is Dublin's newest arts centre in the north inner city, producing a full schedule of exciting arts events and exhibitions including theatre, music concerts, comedy and dance performances. The Complex comprises a Gallery, 16 artist's studios, The Depot, a 350 seat warehouse performance space and The Cooler, a music and presentation room.

Recent events: Musictown by Foggy Notions for DCC, Dublin Modular Exhibition and Electronic Music, Dizney in Drag by The Hairy Godmothers, The Rose Tattoo (in-house production), Slaughterhouse X Screenings, Tender Eire Pride Block Party, King Shrine by Emma Martin for Dublin Dance Festival, Nextus by Nocturnal Animals, Club Loosen Sober Rave and Aerowaves Spring Forward Dance Festival.

PURPOSE/OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

This role is responsible for the management, coordination and delivery of the technical requirements for Complex productions, co-productions, in-coming arts and commercial events. The Technical Manager is supported by a bank of technicians and crew.

Role and responsibilities

Responsible to the Producer/Production Co-Ordinator

Primary role is to assess and prepare the technical requirements of each space for performances, filming, video shoots, exhibitions, events or streamings

Assess the technical needs of visiting arts organisations/companies/artists

Risk assess events

Implement health and safety measures.

Manage the install or derig of lighting and sound equipment, screens, projectors, staging, scenery and seating.

Support and/or assist all incoming companies, artists or organisations in any area of need, technical, production or logistical

Provide technical support for the Gallery artists where required

Organise lighting and sound desk operators

Maintain equipment and manage improvements and upgrades to our stock

Flexibility of hours is required, though it is not assumed that every weekend is a working day.
