Elevate Bursary

Elevate Bursary

Friday, 19 April 2024, 6.00pm

Galway International Arts Festival, in partnership with Galway Culture Company, is inviting submissions for its Elevate programme, a new bursary and commissioning strand aimed at supporting artists. The programme seeks applications from creative collectives, ensembles, and professional groups based in Galway City or County, particularly those not regularly funded, for the development of new work or exploration of creative practices across all art forms, including digital arts, podcasts, and video.

Seven bursaries are available: three valued at €10,000 each and four at €5,000 each. One bursary is designated for projects focusing on environmental sustainability or climate change, and two are reserved for artists with lived experience of displacement, intergenerational migration, or those from historically marginalized communities. The bursaries aim to support the diverse voices of contemporary Ireland, encouraging submissions from underrepresented groups within the arts sector.

Applicants are required to submit a proposal summary, project budget, biographies of involved individuals, and a project timeline. Submissions should be sent to submissions [at] giaf.ie with “ELEVATE OPEN CALL 2024” in the subject line by 6pm on Friday, 19 April 2024.
