NIGHT MOVES at Droichead | Greenshine

Night Moves at Droichead kicks off on Feb 2 with our first late-night clubs transforming every corner of Droichead Arts Centre into a captivating space. Audiences will enjoy ambient music by DJ Timmy Tra in our gallery, experience a bespoke art installation by visual artist Vivienne Byrne and enjoy a music programme in our theatre featuring Greenshine, with support from Seanie Vaughan.

RTÉ Folk Awards Best Group nominees Greenshine, a Cork based trio consisting of Mary Greene, Noel Shine and their daughter Ellie. Their songs – straddling the boundaries of Folk, Indie and Americana with outstanding harmonies, skillful stringwork and fine songwriting – have featured on Irish airwaves for many years and their tracks have travelled far beyond their homeland and into the waiting ears of music lovers worldwide.

Seanie Vaughanis an indie rock and folk artist from Connemara, Galway, Ireland based in Drogheda for over a decade. In 2011, Seanie released his debut album “Altered Vision” which reached no.5 in the Irish Indie Album Charts and in 2015, Seanie released his second album, “Redemption”. With high praise from national and international press Seanie is en-route to becoming an integral part of Irish rock.

Night Moves.

An innovative & dynamic programme designed to provide new & engaging night time cultural experiences across Drogheda & East Meath. Produced by Droichead Arts Centre, and delivered with curators SJ McArdle, Brian Hegarty, 33-45, Brenda McComesky & Dorothy Smith, promoters & alternative venues, and in partnership with Love Drogheda BIDS, supported by the Arts Offices in Louth & Meath County Councils, and the newly established Night-Time Economy Advisor in Drogheda. Aligned with the Late-Night Events vision & Droichead's strategy 22-26, the programme encapsulates our vision of extending cultural offerings, fostering partnerships, & creating diverse opportunities for artists & audiences alike, and is funded under the Arts Council’s Late Night Events (Pilot Programme) in partnership with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.
