Stewart Copeland – Police Deranged for Orchestra

Galway International Arts Festival, in association with Róisín Dubh, has confirmed Stewart Copeland’s Police Deranged for Orchestra as the final headline act for the Heineken® Big Top. The concert, scheduled for Wednesday, 17th July 2024, will feature orchestral renditions of The Police’s most celebrated hits, under the baton of conductor Eímear Noone.

Tickets for the event will be available from 10:00 am on Friday, 12th April.

Police Deranged for Orchestra will include a wide selection of the band’s hits such as ‘Roxanne’, ‘Every Breath You Take’, and ‘Message in a Bottle” ’, performed by the Police drummer, alongside guest vocalists, a band, and a 28-piece orchestra.

Copeland’s career encompasses not only his time with The Police but also contributions to opera, ballet, and orchestral music. Eímear Noone brings her extensive experience as a composer and conductor, having previously made history as the first woman to conduct at the Academy Awards ceremony.

The Galway International Arts Festival is set to run from 15th to 28th July, with the full programme due to be announced in May. The Heineken Big Top will also feature performances from artists including Leftfield, Passenger, Kneecap, Block Rockin Beats, Annie Mac, Jess Glynne, KETTAMA, Gavin James, and The Saw Doctors,
