The Irish Museums Association (IMA) is currently seeking a Programme Manager for a part-time position on a 2-year fixed-term contract. This role is pivotal in supporting the effective operation and delivery of the IMA’s initiatives aimed at bolstering its membership and the broader museum sector in Ireland. The Programme Manager will be responsible for the daily management and execution of agreed projects, collaborating closely with the Director to develop new programmes aligning with the Association’s objectives and ethos.

Key responsibilities include stakeholder coordination to tailor services to member needs, planning and delivering professional development resources and events for museum professionals, creating new content for members, and managing communication across digital platforms. The role also involves evaluating programme outcomes, managing volunteers, working groups, and contractors, and representing the IMA at various events.

Candidates should have a minimum of three years’ experience in a related field, such as cultural programming or museum education, demonstrating comprehensive project management skills, strong communication abilities, and a knack for forming productive partnerships. Knowledge of current museum sector issues in Ireland and Northern Ireland is essential.

The role offers a pro-rata annual salary of €36,000 for a 20-hour week, with hybrid working options available. Applications are due by noon on 4 April 2024, with interviews expected in the following week.
