The Dublin Jazz Co-op Presents: Christine Tobin

The Dublin Jazz Co-op is set to present a performance featuring the acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Christine Tobin, accompanied by Phil Robson on guitar, Dave Redmond on bass, and David Lyttle on drums. The event will take place on Sunday, 24 March 2024, at The Workman’s Club, located at 10 Wellington Quay, Dublin 8. Doors for the Vintage Room venue will open at 19:30, with the music commencing at 20:00.

Christine Tobin, a Dublin-born artist who has been a significant figure in both the New York City and London jazz scenes, is now based in Northwest Roscommon. Known for her unique and rich vocal sound, Tobin has been praised for her expressive range and her incorporation of jazz, folk, and twentieth-century European art song influences. Throughout her career, Tobin has received numerous accolades, including a BASCA British Composer Award, the “Jazz Vocalist of the Year” at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards, and “Best Vocalist” at the BBC Jazz Awards. Her project ‘A Thousand Kisses Deep’ was awarded a Herald Angel Award at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Tobin’s performance at The Workman’s Club is part of the Dublin Jazz Co-op series, aiming to showcase distinguished talents within the jazz genre. Early bird tickets are available at a special price, with discount codes ‘artist’ and ‘student’ offering additional reductions.
