Thelonius Sphere Monk is the second most recorded jazz composer next to Duke Ellington. Known for his dissonances and unorthodox approach to piano, Monk left an indelible mark on the history of modern jazz. His unique improvisational style, and percussive approach set the standard for – not just Jazz musicians, but – musical icons ever since.
