Camerata Ireland 25 AT NCH: Barry Douglas and Patrick Rafter
Camerata Ireland was founded in 1999 by internationally renowned pianist Barry Douglas in response to the Good Friday Agreement, with the aim of bringing together the finest musicians from Ireland and Northern Ireland to perform at home and abroad. Since its formation, Camerata has toured the world to great critical acclaim, performing in Europe, North and South America and China. At home, the orchestra hosts the Clandeboye Festival each year in Co. Down, where it is joined by internationally renowned soloists for a week of extraordinary music making in the historic surroundings of the Clandeboye Estate. 2024 marks the orchestra’s 25th anniversary, and Camerata Ireland is delighted to be returning to the NCH for a specially curated series of 3 concerts which will take place in February, May and October 2024.
In this final concert of the series, Camerata Ireland will be joined by renowned Irish violinist Patrick Rafter for a performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The programme will also feature Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 21 performed by the orchestra’s founder Barry Douglas, along with ‘3 Pieces in Baroque Style’ by Krzysztof Penderecki.
