The award winning Cill Aodáin Choral Society is a fifty-plus size community based choir from Kiltimagh and surrounds, under the musical direction of Finóla Higgins. Tenor Cathal Gavin will be a special guest at this two night choral extravaganza.

Founded in 1998, The Cill Aodáin Choral Society has grown in members and experience. Now with fifty plus singers from Kiltimagh and surrounds, they meet weekly to share their love of music. Under the musical direction of Finóla Higgins, they have explored a wide variety of musical genres, won awards in several choral competitions around Ireland and performed with many well-known Irish artists in concert and on national television. The Choir, along with their musical director performed in the EU building in Brussels in 2013 as part of the celebrations of Irelands Presidency of the EU.

In 2016 they took part in the National Choral Project and sang in Collins Barracks on Easter Sunday as part of the 1916 commemorations. They, as part of a massed choir, recorded “One Hundred Years a Nation” with David Brophy and the National Symphony Orchestra. In April 2017 the choir travelled to Croatia to participate in the 7th International Festival of Choirs and Orchestras, in the Istria Peninsula, followed by a trip to Rome during Easter week to sing at a mass in the main altar in St. Peters. Every Christmas the Cill Aodáin Choral Society visit the local nursing homes to sing for the residents there, they also enjoy performing at the Christmas Carol Service in their local church and the turning on of the Christmas Lights in the town.

Cathal Gavin is delighted to join the Cill Aodain Choral Society as special guest.

The 20 year old, Swinford born Tenor, promises to dazzle audiences with his mesmerising voice, “a powerful voice that transcends beyond his years and translates across generations through his multi genre style”.
