The Everyman is now seeking a dynamic and creative Communications & Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will join a hard-working team who operate in a positive, supportive environment and who care deeply about the organisation’s vision, mission and values. They will help maintain and grow our audiences while continuing to build on the strong internal culture of team-working as well as fostering excellent external relationships with partners and stakeholders.

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualities:

Essential:

• At least five years’ marketing experience, preferably within the arts.
• Proven experience of planning, implementing and evaluating major marketing campaigns including managing the design process.
• Creative flair and an imaginative approach to marketing and digital communications.
• Experience in planning and evaluating online and social advertising campaigns.
• Experience in digital systems such as website CMS and social media platforms.
• A proven track record in working innovatively with digital marketing.
• Experience of working to and achieving income targets.
• Experience of managing budgets and delivering campaigns within financial limits.
• A commitment to audience development and making theatre as accessible as possible.
• Line management experience
• Excellent copywriting and proofing skills.
• Absolute attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to prioritise a varied and heavy workload.
• Advanced IT skills across all Microsoft software.
• Excellent administration skills.
• A genuine enthusiasm for theatre and performance in all its forms.
• A confident and professional manner.
• A highly organised and systematic approach.

Desirable:

• Experience of the Ticketsolve box office system
• Experience managing paid-for campaigns including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube
• Experience using Google Analytics Campaign Tracking
• Experience of video image capture and using video editing software.
• Data analytic experience as relates to audience development, box office data and Mailchimp.

Reporting to the Executive Director/CEO, duties will include:

Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for The Everyman’s in-house productions, visiting shows, community & outreach, and development activities, aligning with the overall brand strategy.

Activities will include:

• Monitor sales patterns and target audience segments effectively, utilizing box office data for communication.
• Survey, engage with and respond to audiences.
• Maintain a strong relationship with box office, communicating key information and sharing relevant materials for effective sales of tickets.
• Liaise with visiting companies to gather information to effectively promote their shows.
• Manage the visual identity and creative for in-house productions in collaboration with artists, programming department, graphic designers, photographers and videographers.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of effective multi-channel marketing campaigns with effective management of budget to include print, out of house, radio and digital advertising and promotion.
• Oversee The Everyman website, social media and email marketing and SEO strategy to increase engagement and drive sales.
• Stay abreast of new technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of digital marketing developments.
• Plan and implement creative organic marketing initiatives through social media, direct mail campaigns and local business collaborations.
• Develop and maintain media partnerships with national, regional and local media in print, radio and online.
• Arrange PR activities and liaise with The Everyman’s PR agency in order to maximise preview, review and feature coverage for shows and company activities.
• Work with the Education & Community Manager to promote education and community outreach activities and programmes.

Communications & Networking:

• Work with the Development & Partnerships Manager in developing and implementing a communications plan to engage potential supporters and friends to The Everyman.
• Represent The Everyman at industry and community functions and training as necessary.
• Working with local business in response to the content of the artistic programme to develop offers to patrons. Audience Development
• Work with all departments to identify opportunities for audience development based on current trends or sales patterns.
• Work with all departments to develop and implement plans to attract new audience segments/individuals while increasing frequency of attendance among existing ones.
• Find effective ways to build and maintain links with special interest and activity groups within the city and county which are relevant to both generic and show specific campaigns.
• Work with The Everyman’s development department to maximise promotional opportunities with businesses and organisations in Cork.
• Identify underrepresented audience groups and work to redress through short and long-term strategies.

Line Management:

• Take on a leadership role within the organisation, motivating team members and ensuring that all marketing is delivered to the highest quality.
• Supervise the work and development of the Marketing team, ensuring they manage their workload effectively, understand the priorities of the department, receive regular feedback and opportunities for relevant training.

Any other such duties as may be reasonably requested by the Executive Director/CEO.
