ORACAL is a company that was founded in 2023 to promote and manage the artistic output of Cork-based artists, John O Brien and Éadaoin O Donoghue. The artists have been making critically acclaimed, and publicly lauded, original large-scale opera, theatre, and music projects in Cork and elsewhere across Ireland for the last 7 years.

These works have been produced principally in partnership(s) with Cork Opera House, The Everyman, Corcadorca and Cork Midsummer Festival, and with funding from The Arts Council of Ireland and Cork City Council.Existing work in ORACAL’s catalogue are the operas Morrígan, The Nightingale and the Rose, and Coiscéim; the plays Heart of a Dog and Hail to the Great Wave!, and the musical works Lilith, Ecclesiastes and Lullaby for the City (in a Time of Pandemic).

ORACAL is now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Creative Producer to join this company on a part-time basis. As a freelance team member, you will work closely with the artists to ensure the successful execution of artistic projects while maintaining flexibility in your schedule.

The key objectives for this collaboration will include:

The development and management of key stakeholder relationships, partners, and collaborators both nationally and internationally
The development of opportunities for the back catalogue of existing work
Exploring and opportunities for the development of new work
Identifying and securing funding opportunities.
Assist the artists defining the company’s artistic ambition.
Advise on general industry standards, technologies and industry developments.
The ideal Creative Producer will demonstrate:

An affinity for the mission, vision and work of ORACAL, and a passion to play a key role in shaping and achieving its success.
Proven experience as a Creative Producer or similar role in an artistic or creative environment.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration and relationship-building.
Budgeting and financial management expertise to ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints.
Passion for the arts and a keen eye for artistic quality.
The Position:

Flexibility to work about 10 hours per week for an initial 6 month period is essential, with the ability to adapt to changing project needs.

The fee available for the duration of the project is Eur10,600 for the 6 month period.

This is a freelance position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own schedule and working remotely.
