The Undertones featuring special guests Buzzcocks
Renowned punk legends The Undertones have announced a headline show in Dublin to mark the 45th anniversary of their iconic song, 'Teenage Kicks'. The concert will take place at The Academy on Sunday, 26th November 2023, featuring special guests Buzzcocks.
Tickets, priced at €39.05 including booking fees, will be available from 10 AM on Wednesday, 3rd May. The Undertones, hailing from Derry, initially formed in 1976 when five friends decided to learn basic rock and roll. They rose to fame after DJ John Peel played their debut single 'Teenage Kicks' twice consecutively on his BBC Radio One show.
The band's subsequent signing with Sire Records led to multiple successful albums and pop hits, such as 'Here Comes The Summer', 'Jimmy Jimmy', and 'My Perfect Cousin'. The Undertones disbanded in 1983 but reformed in 1999 with new vocalist Paul McLoone. In 2003 they released their album 'Get What You Need'.
