The RDS is seeking to employ a consultant to develop a plan to support the teaching of music in Irish primary schools. The purpose of the plan is to determine if there is a need for an RDS-led music project.

The plan will include specific measures of success and impact over a five-year time frame and a pilot phase, and also to examine potential costs. The maximum budget for the initial study is €10,000.

The deadline for receipt of hard copy proposals is 5pm on Friday 14 December. Interviews will be held in early January 2013. It is expected that the final plan will be delivered by the consultant in March 2013.
