The Playhouse, an award-winning multi-disciplinary art centre based in Derry, have issued a call for tenders to composers to write new music for two upcoming productions by the Theatre of Witness. The Theatre of Witness is a performance art and theatre group under the directorship of Teya Sepinuck that focusses on bringing the true stories of those who have been marginalised in society to an audience of witnesses, to highlight their plight and so find some level of ‘social justice’.

Previous Theatre of Witness productions include We Carried Your Secrets, which included music by Brian Irvine, a Belfast-based composer known for his work in theatre, film and opera. Submission of tenders for this opportunity should be accompanied by two examples of previous relevant work on CD or DVD, and should state prices.

Further documentation and information can be requested by emailing emmastuart [at] derryplayhouse.co.uk. The final date for submission is Friday 8 June, and both a hard copy and electronic version is required.
