RTÉ has announced that it is currently seeking two radio producers with ‘a knowledge and passion for great music across a range of genres’ for positions in RTÉ Lyric FM and RTÉ Radio 1.

The position with RTÉ Lyric FM comes with a 14-month contract beginning in June and the role will involve leading several programme teams.

The Radio 1 vacancy, also beginning in June, is for a producer to work on music and arts projects for a fixed period covering maternity-related leave. Included in the music events are several one-hour RTÉ Concert Orchestra specials for the bank holiday daytime schedule, spread throughout the calendar year.

For both positions, the broadcaster is seeking candidates with the following qualities:

• a knowledge of music across a range of genres particularly classical, film, new, Irish (traditional and contemporary) and popular culture; 
• first-hand experience of producing music radio as well as performance events and broadcast specials including outside broadcasts; 
• a record in development of strong creative content to connect with new and existing audiences; 
• strong editing, scriptwriting and research skills for broadcast and social content; and 
• excellent editorial judgement and the capacity to inspire, influence and lead teams and manage stakeholders.

Both appointments will be made on a fixed-purpose-contract basis on the salary scale of €51,500 to €80,653 gross per annum.
