RTÉ has announced its 2024 Internship Programme and is currently seeking applications for 14 paid internships.

The internships take place over six months and will provide placements across a range of departments, including Radio 1, News, Cláracha Gaeilge, Technology, Current Affairs, Commercial, Sport, Social Media, The Lab, and the RTÉ Player.

Two of the internships will be based in the Gaeltacht working for Nuacht RTÉ in TG4 or Raidió na Gaeltachta.

Training
The internships begin with three weeks of training, following which each intern will be placed in one of the teams for five months. Each intern will also be assigned a mentor in RTÉ who supports them in their professional development. The placements start on 8 April and end on 11 October. Interns will receive a a six-month contract and a salary of €28,357 per annum pro rata (€14,178 for six months).

There will be a number of online seminars this week for those seeking to learn more about the internships. The first will take place on Wednesday 17 January from 1pm to 2pm. A second seminar in the Irish language will take place on Thursday 18 January, and there will also be a seminar focused on sports internships on 19 January at 1pm. To register, visit the link below.

The deadline for applying for all internships is midnight on Monday 5 February. Applicants must be available for an in-person assessment day in Dublin on Monday 26 February and a brief online chat on Tuesday 27 February.
