Handmade Music is a brand-new experimental music night specially curated to feature an amazing mix of well-known artists, lesser-known artists, and surprise guests! All performing music from the edges of their craft.

You’ll hear ‘never-before-heard’ music, and music that may never be heard again.

Join the Handmade Music community in-person or online on the first Thursday of each month as we create this space for experimental/improvised music to exist…and seeing what comes out the other side.

Hope to see you there!

Gareth Quinn Redmond (20-25 min set approx)

Gareth Quinn Redmond’s work is inspired by the Japanese concept of Kankyō Ongaku, Environmental Music. This concept runs throughout Quinn Redmond’s approach to composition, which predominantly focuses on building and sustaining a connection between the listener and their surroundings. Quinn Redmond has continued to release music with WRWTFWW Records including his last two records Umcheol, which blended ambient music and Irish traditional instrumentation, and Ar Ais Arís, an album of warbly cassette tape loops.

QUB Ensemble (10-15min set approx)

QUBe members will form the house band for the Handmade Music series. QUBe is a music collective based in Belfast involving students, staff, and musicians from inside and outside Queen’s University Belfast. QUBe brings together performers from diverse artistic backgrounds and musical interests.

Mount Palomar (25 min set approx)

Belfast based music producer, Mount Palomar, regarded as one of Ireland’s most forward thinking and exciting live dance acts performs a new experimental electronic set.
