Double bassist and composer David Duffy will bring his latest album and live show ‘Where the Branches Begin’ to the Cooler, Dublin on Friday March 1st. Having spent the past six years living in Barcelona, he as assembled an international quartet of Swedish saxophonist, Emil Nerstrand, Catalan pianist Marc Martin, and Davie Ryan from Ireland on drums and with special guest Russian vocalist Ksenia Parkhatskaya, and created something that Jamie Cullum has described as "Fascinating and brilliant music", and BBC Music magazine called "Thoroughly captivating".

His latest album ‘Where the Branches Begin’ was released in October on Jazzville records and has since received critical acclaim, with plays on Jazzfm, RTE, BBC2, and Lyric Fm.

For the Cooler, David has created a new show which integrates Jazz into an immersive audio-visual space. Expect beautiful projections, processed saxophone, acoustic and electronic Jazz, song, some dance, and an incredible quartet that will create moving and evocative music, reminiscent of Portico Quartet, Nils Frahm and Mammal hands.
