Cologne-based Irish saxophonist Matthew Halpin leads a European seven-piece jazz supergroup, bringing top musicians from the Irish and German jazz scenes together for an evening of no-holds-barred music-making. Part of the prestigious WDR Jazzpool Irish-German partnership, Matthew brings together outstanding young voices in the European jazz scene.

Irish representatives include Berklee-graduate Scott Kohlmann on guitar, and Donegal-born bassist Conor Murray who was a finalist in the Young Scottish jazz Musician of the Year during his time across the pond. From Germany, guitarist Tobias Hoffmann has been called "Probably the best jazz guitarist in Germany at the moment." in the Reclam Jazz Lexicon, and trumpeter Jakob Bänsch has been one of the youngest ever members of the Federal Jazz Orchestra in 2020 and a member of the 'WDR Big Band Composers Fellowship'.

Matthew Halpin was the first Irish musician to receive the presidential scholarship to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. His critically-acclaimed debut album 'Agreements' was released in 2021, featuring Kit Downes on hammond organ, Hanno Busch on electric guitar, Sergio Martinez on percussion, and Sean Carpio on drums.

The group hit Dublin on 7th December all horns blazing. Expect creative new interpretations of favourite jazz hits and rich exploratory improvisation from a team of top-notch players.
