Summer at Half Moon Place: Yseult Cooper-Stockdale

Friday, 23 June 2023, 1.10pm

We can't wait for our next instalment of Summer at Half Moon Place this Friday, June 23rd with cellist Yseult Cooper-Stockdale!

Yseult is a Cork-born cellist who enjoys an especially varied career. Much of her work is orchestral, working with every professional orchestra in the ROI, and she also specialises in experimental performance and new music.

She especially enjoys more intimate ensembles, and is highly regarded as a chamber musician and collaborator. In 2022 projects included the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival with Crash, national tours with Spero Quartet, Vanbrugh, Ficino Ensemble, Bell X1 and the Irish Chamber Orchestra, and the 10-year-anniversary festival of Kirkos, the experimental ensemble of which she is a long-standing member. She was also Arts Council funded to co-write and perform a large-scale cross-disciplinary work taking place in Phoenix Park and is the recipient of an Agility Award towards expanding her knowledge of historically-informed performance on Baroque cello.

Her wide-ranging interests have lead to performances at many series and festivals across Ireland, including the Triskel and Hugh Lane concert series, New Music Dublin, Another Love Story, Electric Picnic, Body and Soul, and West Cork Chamber Music. Yseult has worked and recorded with a diverse selection of ensembles and artists in the UK and Ireland such as Welsh National Opera, Kojaque, Anna Meredith, JFDR, Sun Collective, Bastard Assignments and Southbank Sinfonia. She has been broadcast on RTÉ 1, Lyric FM, MediciTV, OperaVision, Channel 4 and BBC Radio 2.

Summer at Half Moon Place is free to attend. Be sure to grab a delicious coffee or a scrumptious sandwich while enjoying Yseult's amazing music!
