€15 / €50 family ticket (4)

Internationally acclaimed early music ensemble Camerata Kilkenny, with master uilleann piper David Power, perform a programme of music inspired by fantastical literary works from the 17th & 18th centuries alongside traditional Irish music with associated themes. Entitled ‘The Piper and the Fairy Queen’ the programme features Telemann’s ‘Gulliver Travels’ suite and Purcell’s ‘The Fairy Queen’ suite alongside music by O’Carolan and Handel. Irish tunes, such as ‘The Fox Chase’, dovetail into the overall theme of the programme. Since the release of RTE Lyric FM’s CD ‘The Piper and the Fairy Queen’ in 2018, Camerata Kilkenny and David Power have played at major music festivals in Ireland, Finland, Belgium and Germany.
