Cass McCombs + Steve Gunn

Cass McCombs + Steve Gunn

Friday, 26 April 2024, 9.00pm

Cass McCombs and Steve Gunn’s co-headline tour opens in Clonakilty, West Cork, Friday 26th April.

Over the past twenty plus years, the uncompromising Cass McCombs has carved out a singular path as a songwriter and performer. Hailed by The New York Times as “one of the great songwriters of his time”, Cass’ songs express a vast range of often be guiling interests, from the intensely personal to historical narrative. Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, he currently lives in New York City and is working on his 11th album. Ever evolving, for Cass’ 2024 Ireland tour with Steve Gunn, McCombs has decided to step out from his long-time band and embark on his first ever solo tour.

Steve Gunn is a New York-based guitarist and songwriter. With a career spanning nearly fifteen years, Steve has produced volumes of critically acclaimed solo, duo, and ensemble recordings on labels such as Matador Records, Three Lobed Recordings, Paradise of Bachelors, and RVNG. His albums represent milestones of contemporary guitar-driven material, and forward-thinking song writing. Steve has steadily processed his inspirations into a singular, virtuosic stream. Close listening reveals the influence of blues, folk, ecstatic free jazz, and psych in his continually unfolding output.

Both artists are working on new music.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see two of the finest performers in the charming surrounds of DeBarras’ Folk Club, Friday 26th April 2024. Long standing associations with Noel Redding (The Jimi Hendrix Experience) Paddy Keenan (The Bothy Band), Sharon Shannon, and folk artists Christy Moore and Roy Harper, have served as the cornerstones of this little venue’s worldwide renown as one of the finest music houses in Ireland. Tickets €25 are on sale from debarra.ie
