Revue at the Old Church, Cushendun

Saturday, 20 April 2024, 8.00pm

The Old Church Centre are delighted to welcome this fabulous group for what we know will be a very special evening.

Singer Emma Loudon, multi-instrumentalist/producer Marty Price, Sean McCann (bass), Ioannis Tsouliakis (keys) and Josh McCullough (drums) – all share a love for classic song writing and folk music in its broadest sense; Irish & British traditional songs and the Americana of roots, jazz and blues. They filter this mix through a modern indie folk lens, fans of theirs often also like Emma Langford, Glen Hansard and they count among their influences, Paul Simon, The Band, and The Beatles.

Why Can’t You Stay, released in Spring 2023, was as inspired by the natural world as it was by themes of loss, specifically the recent loss of Emma’s father (a lifelong singer/bassist) and her brother, although losses of relationships, friendships and environments have also mixed and joined with the psychological meditations and simmering feminist heat that has always existed in their songs.
