Gloria - The Goethe Choir Christmas Celebration
Gloria! With the song of angels, the Goethe Choir returns to the NCH for our ever-popular Christmas concert.
The choir are joined by outstanding local vocal and instrumental soloists to present some spectacular seasonal choral music.
We mark William Byrd’s 400th anniversary with Rorate caeli desuper and celebrate JS Bach’s arrival in Leipzig in 1723 with one of his exceptionally beautiful Christmas cantatas, Nun komm der Heiden Heiland (BWV 61). The highlight of the concert is a rare performance of Antonio Vivaldi's Dixit Dominus (RV 594), a spectacular piece for two choir, two orchestras and trumpets.
