
Joseph M. Hassett Creativity Bursary (Musical Composition)
University College Dublin’s College of Arts and Humanities is accepting applications for the 2024–25 Joseph M. Hassett Creativity Bursary in Musical Composition. This annual award, named after alumnus and Yeats scholar Dr. Joseph M. Hassett, grants a €5,000 bursary for a musical composition project that connects the applicant’s contemporary creative practice with UCD’s cultural heritage.
The recipient will have the chance to present their work during an annual College event and may have the opportunity to collaborate with UCD’s Performing Groups. Consent for the use of the bursary holder’s name and any media produced while engaged in University activities for College promotion is required.
To apply, candidates must submit a personal statement (up to 2 pages) demonstrating their award suitability and potential creative engagement with UCD Cultural Heritage Collections, a Curriculum Vitae, and two referee nominations. Applications are to be emailed to arts.humanities [at] ucd.ie by 5 pm on Friday, 26 April 2024.
