Our Company
The Mobile Music School delivers interactive, educational and fun based music programmes and workshops in primary and secondary schools, libraries and arts centres throughout Ireland. Other projects we produce and deliver include educational orchestral programmes and family concert days.
We currently run programme throughout Leinster. Established in 2011 we work in over 120 school every year.
The Role
We are recruiting for a music teacher with Irish (3 days per week) who is suitably qualified and experienced to teach classroom music, classroom percussion plus other instruments.
To note this role is not a freelance position. Salary will be made through the PAYE system and will require the candidate to work on the same 3 days every week
The Person
We are looking for a highly musical individual who is able to teach to the highest level. The desired candidate will be outgoing, assertive, practical, and focused with the ability to win rapport with the stakeholders in a school. A full drivers licence and access to a car is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
· Establish strong working relationships with schools and educational centres
· Deliver the music programme booked by the client to the highest possible standard
· Ensure that every class is interactive, education and fun
· Ensure there is an appropriate level of differentiation within each class
· Devise a set of lesson plans that are suitable for each class group you teach
· Ensure smooth running of our programmes in schools
· Appropriately deal with any classroom management and or behavior issues as they arise
· Act as a positive brand ambassador for the Mobile Music School
· Encourage school teachers to complete and submit feedback reports at the end of each programme
· Act as a member of the Mobile Music School team
· Report to our curriculum manager
· Attend team meetings, reviews and training sessions
Key Skills Required
· Ability to teach primary school aged children and young people
· Ability to review the progress being made by each class and reassess the content being taught as required
· Ability to follow and create lesson plans in line with Mobile Music Schools aims and objectives
· Ability to win rapport with all stakeholders in a school to include pupils, teachers, SNAs, school secretaries and school principals
· Can work productively and confidently on own initiative and as part of a team
· A persuasive communicator
· Excellent customer service skills
· Excellent computer/ digital skills
· Excellent organizational skills
· Ability to work as a brand ambassador for & active promoter of the Mobile Music School
Experience
Experience of teaching in a school environment or teaching large groups of children in a range of different settings essential
Package
One year contract subject to successfully passing a probation period
3 days per week
36 teaching weeks per year (term time)
