RIAM Young Artists Showcase
In what has now become an annual showcase presented by the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Office of Public Works, tonight's concert features a line-up of exceptional musicians from the RIAM's Young Artist programme. These are high-potential students from Junior RIAM who have expressed an interest in pursuing music at third level and entering the profession.
This concert features performers from the Keyboard, Strings, Wind and Vocal faculties, with students performing short solo works, accompanied by Dearbhla Brosnan on piano. Featured in this year's presentation are Sarah Brazil (violin), Juliette Carroll-Breen (piano), Ai Shen Sun (cello), Ava Duffy (piano), Kian Lee (violin), Ruadhri O'Dea (piano), Simon Carey (clarinet), Riona Scahill (piano), Adam Joyce (cello) and Emily Brazil (soprano).
The concert affords audience members the opportunity of seeing and hearing an extraordinarily talented group of young musicians performing at the earliest stage of their careers in the intimate surrounds of Farmleigh's beautiful Ballroom.
The Royal Irish Academy of Music was founded by Francis and Joseph Robinson, John Smith, Samuel Pigott, Charles Graves and John Stanford, amongst others, and first opened its doors on the 1st March 1848.
Doors open at 7.30pm, for an 8pm start.
Tickets are €17, including booking fee, and are available from www.eventbrite.ie
Attendees who are expecting to take a taxi home after the concert are advised to book one in advance for no later than 10pm.
