German-French cellist Nicolas Altstaedt is one of the most sought-after and versatile cellists of our time. For his long-awaited Galway debut, he will be joined by two equally accomplished artists, the Hungarian violinist Barnabás Kelemen and the Argentinian pianist José Gallardo, for a programme with a decidedly Eastern European bent. The first half of the concert features the cello in duet with piano and then violin while in the second half all three artists come together for a performance of Dvorak’s evergreen “Dumky” Trio.
