in Outpatient Settings in Dublin

Helium Arts is seeking to employ a professional, multi-disciplinary Visual Artist with a strong collaborative and inclusive arts practice working with children and young people to join our Outpatients Programme in Dublin. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with children with additional needs, possess strong administration and relationship building skills, and have the ability to curate an artistic reflection that celebrates the engagement between the artist and the children and young people and what they have created. This position is part-time, 2.5 days (or 20 hours a week), for potentially three years, working across Hospital Outpatients’ Departments and Day Units in Dublin, in partnership with Children’s Health Ireland.

The children and young people we work with include those with lifelong health conditions, disabilities, additional needs and those from migrant and refugee backgrounds. The role is due to begin December 1st with training, induction, and shadowing opportunities. Training and continued professional development, including support and supervision, including artist peer support, will be provided throughout employment. Helium Arts is the national children’s arts and health charity, developing the creativity of children living with long-term conditions to support wellbeing including their social connections, self-esteem, and sense of agency.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview online the following week and then attend a selection workshop in person the same week (week of Nov 27th).
