Gerry O’Connor

Dundalk native Gerry O’Connor is one of Ireland’s foremost traditional musicians, having been taught music by his late mother Rose who was a major influence on traditional music in Dundalk town. He has travelled the world over the past 40 years in a solo capacity and with various groups including Skylark and Lá Lugh. He regularly appears at the festival both as a performer and a teacher.

Long known as Gerry ‘Fiddle’ O'Connor, this is one fiddler whose pulse is quickened by the sheer delight in the tunes. As a fourth-generation fiddle player, he knows the value of the shared tune.
