hcmf// shorts is a series of short informal performances which will take place on Monday 19 November 2018 in various venues across Huddersfieldhcmf// shorts takes place on Free Monday, which is the busiest day of the Festival with an average of 2000 visitors each year. The day provides emerging artists with a valuable platform to perform for members of the public, media and key music industry representatives within a programme of events also featuring established artists.

The shorts call is open to UK-based performers, who will have the opportunity to receive professional mentoring as part of the hcmf// shorts scheme. Grants will be offered to five five successful applicants to supplement travel and accommodation expenses.

Proposals are welcomed from all types of performers, included but not limited to solo performers, ensembles, electro-acoustic, performance, sound or noise artists, and works can be especially composed or existing pieces. There are no age limits. Proposed programmes should be no longer than 20 minutes in duration.
