Féile Chois Cuain Starts Today

Sunday afternoon’s Four Winds concert in the Parochial Hall, Louisburgh features performers from Japan, Australia, Sweden, Germany, Zimbabwe, England and the USA.

This year’s Féile Chois Cuain in Louisburgh, County Mayo starts today Friday, 4 May, with music and singing sessions in local pubs tonight. The masterclasses take place tomorrow, Saturday, featuring the tutors Róisín Elsafty, Seán Garvey, Darren Breslin, Dan Brouder, Angelina Carberry, Caitlín NicGabhann, John Kelly, Antóin Mac Gabhann, Patsy Maloney, Tara Diamond, Joe Skelton, Seán Ryan, Pádraic McGovern, Tony O’Rourke, Mick Mulkerrins, who will also perform in a concert that night.

The sean-nós session on Saturday afternoon features Elsafty and Johnny Mháirtín Learaí Mac Donnchadha, Éamon Ó Donnchadha, Caitlín Ní Chualáin, Meaití Jó Shéamuis Ó Fátharta, Nollaig NicAindriú, Aodán Ó Ceallaigh, Irial Ó Ceallaigh, Nollaig Ní Laoire, Roisín Chambers, Seán Garvey and Antaine Ó Faracháin.
