Kildare Jazz Festival: Rodrigo Almonte Sextet

Kildare Jazz Festival: Rodrigo Almonte Sextet

Saturday, 11 November 2023, 9.15pm

Rodrigo Almonte is a Peruvian guitarist and composer based in Dublin. He has played extensively on the Peruvian and European jazz scene with his own different musical projects. His lyrical melodies, fresh chords and intricate rhythms are equally present and well-balanced on his solos and compositions. With his South American and contemporary jazz influences, Almonte brings a unique approach to music.

The quintet features an international line up of musicians (with incredible projects under each of their names) whom share the experience of graduating from the Jazz Performance Master program at the prestigious Prins Claus Conservatoire in The Netherlands as well as being on top of the jazz scene on each of their countries.

The band consists of Lorenzo Vitolo on piano, Rafael Abdala on double bass, Roberto Pistolesi on drums, Rodrigo Almonte on guitar and Daniel Juárez on tenor saxophone. With special guest three time Grammy Award winner Brazilian percussionist Rogerio Boccato.

Event Tickets: €10 per event | €15 per day | €40 for full weekend. Discount automatically applied. Workshops not included.

The Kildare Jazz Festival is curated by Kasia Eliasz and supported by The Arts Council - Funding Festivals
