Programme: Merry Christmas with ConTempo Quartet
Arcangelo Corelli's Concerto grosso in G minor, Op. 6, No. 8 otherwise known as the Christmas Concerto, was commissioned by Cardinal Pietro Ottoboni and published posthumously in 1714 as part of Corelli's Twelve concerti grossi, Op. 6. The concerto bears the inscription Fatto per la notte di Natale (made for the night of Christmas).

Raymond Briggs wonderful wordless picture book story entitled the Snowman tells the tale of a boy who builds a snowman who comes to life at the stroke of midnight! Music for the animated award winning film adaptation is by Howard Blake and on this special performance ConTempo Quartet are joined by a special guest boy soprano. The narrator is Historian & Journalist Dr Martin Alioth.
