Two New Traditional Singing Courses starting 23rd June '20

I've been enjoying teaching amhránaíocht ar an sean-nós courses in The Cobblestone, Dublin for a couple years now & we really can't wait to get back there, eventually. Beimid ag súil leis sin! However, in the meantime, I'm offering 2 new singing courses online via zoom, which means you can join either of these group courses, from wherever you are in the world! You can sing to your heart's content while muted in the zoom class (a real plus for some people a little shy at first to sing in public), get feedback if you wish, try a few verses out on the rest of us, enjoy the company of others in the class and use this time to learn a few songs & delve into our extraordinary singing traditions. I'm offering two new singing courses online. They'll both be kicking off Tues 23rd June & you can book for either now.

1. Amhránaíocht ar an sean-nós
Sa chúrsa seo, tógfaimid 5-6 amhrán. Beimid ag plé cúlra na n-amhrán, foghraíocht & míniú na bhfocal, chomh maith le phrásaíocht agus ornáidíocht.

In this course, we will take 5-6 songs from the sean-nós tradition. We'll be going through the background, pronunciation & meaning of the words (an absolutely fantastic way to learn the language), phrasing & ornamentation (to a basic level) & you'll learn the songs by a call & answer method. You also receive recordings of the songs & lyrics via email each week to listen to. (Note: two of the singers above were had none / very little Irish)

2. Traditional Singing in English
This new course has come about through people asking me to do a course on english language songs. Though being fluent in Irish is not essential for the sean-nós singing course, some people would like to learn some songs without the added language difficulty. We'll be covering 6-7 of our most beautiful traditional songs over the 8 week course. You receive recordings of the songs & lyrics via email each week to listen to. You'll definitely have a party piece or two at the end of it.
