The Oriel Traditional Music Archive will have an informal Open Night on Thursday 11th January 2024 7 pm-9 pm in Newry, Gaeláras Mhic Ardghail with a traditional music session following in the Railway Bar, Newry.
The event is open to anyone who would like to learn more about volunteering opportunities with the OTMA project.
The OTMA team will be happy to show around and take anyone interested through the several types of opportunities available to volunteers. These include connecting with the bearers of Oriel traditional music, collecting recordings, memories and memorabilia, social media content editing, digitising, cataloguing, field recording, interviewing and audio/video editing.
Some of these tasks do not require in-person presence (OTMA is based in Newry, Co. Down).
OTMA provides training and coaching on most skills required.
