About
This symposium seeks to explore the new realities of arts participation amongst refugee and asylum seeker children and young people. The symposium is an opportunity for academics, students, practitioners, community workers and policymakers to challenge our understandings of how these children and young people engage with the arts in our society. The speakers and facilitators will present current research and practical approaches with a view to opening up a critical debate on how to seek new pathways for the arts with displaced children and young people. Through a sharing of expertise, the symposium will explore themes and topics relating to: arts education, arts displacement, participatory arts, arts/cultural identities, intercultural arts, traditional arts, as well as the role of the arts amongst young refugees and asylum seekers.
Registration fee:€20 - payable on day
