Sounding the Feminists Announces Public Meeting on 7 June

Collective inviting individuals and organisations to discuss ideas around gender equality.

Sounding the Feminists has announced the details of its next public meeting, taking place on 7 June at IMRO in Dublin.

STF is a collective of composers, musicians and others working in the music industry in Ireland that advocates for equality, diversity and fair representation of female artists. Its first public meeting was held on 13 September 2017. Read our report of the meeting here

Since then, Sounding the Feminists has announced partnerships with organisations such as Irish National Opera, the Music Department of Maynooth University, RTÉ ConTempo Quartet and the Irish Baroque Orchestra. A new five-year initiative with the NCH was announced on International Women’s Day this year, and will feature three strands: performance of chamber work by female composers, a commissioning scheme, and a new programme strand at the NCH
