Archival Work Training

Archival Work Training

Wednesday, 24 April 2024, 7.00pm

The Oriel Traditional Music Archive (OTMA) will be hosting a series of 6 training sessions around archival work starting from Wednesday 24th April.

The sessions will be covering best practices in collecting, archiving and preserving and are aimed at anyone interested in learning how to collect, record, preserve and archive.

On 24 April, Dr. Nicholas Wright – archeologist and Ballycastle Project Officer at the Causeway Coast and Glens Museum Services – will lead a session on Oral Histories.

It is a great opportunity to meet with the expert and find out which are the best practices around collecting oral histories. There will also be time for Q&A at the end of the session.

The following 5 sessions will be taking place from the following Wednesday. Some of them will take place in Newry whilst others will take place online. The sessions can be attended individually.

The event is organised by the Oriel Traditional Music Archive and will take place on Wednesday 24th April, 7pm-9pm in the Gaeláras Mhic Ardghail, Newry. Everybody is welcome. Admission is free.

The Oriel Traditional Music Archive is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
