The UCD Gamelan Orchestra is unique ensemble of percussion instruments from the island of Java in Indonesia. The music ranges from the exciting and dramatic to the mellow and meditative, ornamented with beautiful vocal melodies and bamboo flutes. In this very special concert showcase, the gamelan orchestra will be joined by students from across the UCD School of Music. We will hear brand new music by our composition students, classical favourites from our final year recitalists, an original song performed at the piano by songwriting student Eliana Campbell, and a beautiful Irish harp solo written by our traditional music student Emer Scully.

We are also delighted to present the winner of this year's UCD Composition Prize, the talented young student from Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School, Cody Grove, who will perform his beautiful piano solo entitled "Birdsong".

This is a concert with something for everyone, and surely a special evening to be remembered.
