NIGHT MOVES TradTrail | The Punt, Barney Macs, and The Pheasant
10.30pm | Feb 9, March 15 and April 26 | Free
TradTrail features the very finest local and national traditional acts across well-loved bars in Drogheda, The Punt, Barney Macs, and the Pheasant, across February, March and April.
Along with other acts to be announced, February 9 will feature Snakebite, a musical duo comprising Mick Hussey (guitar & vocals) and Mick Dunne (mandolin and banjo). The duo have been playing together for over ten years and their musical repertoire is fun and uplifting with a surprising mix of bluegrass, Irish ballads and popular songs from the American songbook.
On March 15 and April 26 Louth fiddler, composer and singer Róisín Ward Morrow will join forces with frequent collaborator Breifne Holohan (guitar, bouzouki), breathing new life into ancient melodies and developing Róisín’s own haunting compositions.
On Feb 9 and April 26, Síle Ryan and Tadgy Leahy will come together to create a performance that will showcase their love of Irish trad music, and include the wide range of influences of both musicians.
Tradify with Drogheda’s very own Darragh O’Heiligh will play all three dates, creating an irresistible soundscape, where the bold rhythm of the Bouzouki, the mesmerizing harmonies of the whistle, and the powerful presence of uilleann pipes intertwine, their vibrant arrangements drawing inspiration from Spain, America, and Ireland.
