PorterShed Sessions: Neasa Ní Bhríain viola, Kärt Ruubel piano
The Music for Galway PorterShed Sessions continue with thanks for the extra support from KPMG, DAVY and RDJ with Dublin born Neasa Ní Bhríain and Estonian Kärt Ruubel.
“The blue and the dim and the dark cloths of night and light and the half-light”
Neasa and Kärt met in Germany while pursuing busy careers as soloists, chamber, and orchestral musicians. Their friendship has led them to develop interesting programmes that bridge their countries of origin. This programme looks at the movements of light and darkness and seeks to express the fragility and elegance of movement in the shadow lands in order to appreciate forms of dance that is to be seen out of the corner of our eye. In continuing with their work on the connection between Ireland and Estonia “Éire/Eesti”, they will perform Estonian & Irish compositions that highlight this ethereal theme. Emphasis is also placed on literature from both our countries, in particular on poetry.
These concerts are relaxed performances, intended specifically to be sensitive to and accepting of audience members who may benefit from a more relaxed environment. Each artist will introduce their programmes during the performance.
