From 26th to 29th October, Achill International Harp Festival celebrates the finest Irish and international contemporary expressions of harp, while aligning with ancient Irish harping traditions of gathering harpers at Samhain. The festival offers diverse opportunities to engage with harp and other instruments, from workshops and masterclasses to harp-making workshops, concerts, discussions, recitals and festival club.
Along with the best of Irish musicians, the festival also features musicians from Venezuela, Galicia and Estonia and a new Galician-Irish collaboration 'From Noia to Achill' which premieres on the opening night of the festival.
And there's walks, talks, a screening of the film ‘Iomramh an Chamino’, a celebration of harp maker Paddy Cafferky, dance workshops in sean-nós, céilí and two-hand and a special Guaglaí Gug music and song workshop for the younger age group! More info on achillharpfestival.ie
