RMN Classical, London (UK), has launched the 2020 edition of the Call for Piano Works to promote the creation of new works and foster creativity despite the current pandemic.

The Call for Piano Works 2020 is open to composers and performers of any age and nationality that own piano recordings of their compositions. The tracks submitted are intended to be of Contemporary music for piano solo, piano duos or four (or more) hands. Both Live and Studio recordings are accepted, as well as VST/Computer-generated tracks. Works that include electronics are welcomed but any other combination - like duo and trio with piano (e.g. violin and piano, cello and piano) - and those that include voice or percussion won’t be accepted.

There are no restrictions regarding neither the duration nor the number of recordings that each applicant can submit. Multi-movement works can be submitted, as well as collections of works.

The works of the winners of the Call for Piano Works 2020 will be featured in the upcoming album “Modern Music for Piano 3″ at no extra cost. The release – specifically created to promote new music and new composers and performers – will be produced by RMN Classical and distributed on a high-quality edition on endless platforms and outlets around the world (including Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, Deezer among others). The new album will be promoted on various news networks in North America and the UK/EU.

The prize includes also creation of a high-quality design of the cover artwork, licensing and copyright clearance and the composers will retain 100% of the copyright. Additionally, there will be opportunities for synchronisation and licensing (tv and media) and – optionally – the possibility for a limited edition CD with physical distribution on demand. The winning works will also be added to the Sound and Music Archive of the British Library.
