Up Close with Music
Concorde new music ensemble and RTE ConTempo Quartet join forces in this Sunday @ Noon concert in the Hugh Lane Gallery. New works commissioned by Concorde from Linda Buckley, Jane O’Leary and Ed Bennett earlier this year will be performed, alongside a quintet by the renowned Finnish composer Osmo Tapio Raihala and a short Fanfare by British composer Jonathan Harvey. Concorde was founded in Dublin in 1976 to promote the regular performance of new music and is directed by composer Jane O’Leary. The concert features musicians Madeleine Staunton, alto flute; Paul Roe, clarinet/bass clarinet; Elaine Clark, violin; Martin Johnson, cello; Paul Kiernan, trumpet; with the RTE ConTempo Quartet. Admission Free.
