Soprano Elva MacGowan is delighted to perform at The Chester Beatty Library singing some of her favourite ballads made famous by her favourite singers including Doris Day, Margaret Whiting, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Al Bowlly, Edith Piaf, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Young, Patsy Cline and many more.

Although trained classically, Elva also fell in love with the jazz, folk, traditional and blues scene in Dublin and has been busy collaborating with different musicians to suit her style. She has since blended her knowledge of vocal performance with her love of old timey songs and traditional acoustic accompaniments.
